Special Report No. 03-05: The Use of Logistic Regression Modeling in Sediment Toxicity Screening
In December of 2001, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a draft of the National Sediment Quality Survey: Second Edition (NSQS). The NSQS is a product of the Water Resource Development Act of 1992 which requires that EPA, in consultation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, conduct a national survey of data on sediment quality. The second edition NSQS developed sediment screening values based on theoretical calculations and empirically/statistically derived approaches.
