Special Report No. 03-01: Climate Change: Detection and Attribution of Trends from Long-Term Geologic Data

Climate change is a serious issue facing humanity. The issue is of tremendous importance to the forest products industry, both in terms of how climate change might affect future forest growth, and how public policy to mitigate climate change might affect both forestry and wood products manufacturing. Two questions about climate change remain open: detection and attribution. Detection of change for a complex phenomenon like climate is far from simple, because of the necessary averaging and correcting of the various data sources.
