Special Report No. 02-07: A Survey of Pulp and Paper Industry Environmental Protection Expenditures – 2001

Based on a survey of the industry, capital expenditures for environmental protection at U.S. pulp and paper mills in 2001 were estimated to be $612 million, with 32% of the total being for water quality protection, 54% for air quality protection, and 14% for solid waste management.
