SOLE & MOLE
The Southern On Line Estimator (SOLE) is an Internet-based database analysis tool developed cooperatively by NCASI and the U.S. Forest Service Southern Research Station. SOLE performs tabular, chart, linear model and map analyses on annual Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) data made publicly available through the FIA database (FIADB).
A related tool developed by NCASI, Maps On Line Evaluator (MOLE), allows users to create customized maps for online display and analysis using various combinations of FIA data and other topographic data, including roads, streams and waterbodies, digital elevation, and land coverage data.
