CC-10-035: F&WS, NMFS, NOAA – Proposed Rules to List the Altamaha Spinymussel and Atlantic Sturgeon as Endangered Species
In the October 6, 2010 Federal Register, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced a proposed rule to list the Altamaha spinymussel (Elliptio spinosa) as an endangered species and designate 149 miles of mainstream river channel in Georgia as critical habitat. In the same issue of the Federal Register, the National Marine Fisheries Service announced two proposed rules to list five distinct population segments (DPSs) of the Atlantic sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrinchus oxyrinchus), one as threatened and four as endangered.
