CC-10-003: Consumer Product Safety Commission Continuance of a Stay on Requirement for Testing and Certification of Children’s Products for Phthalates
The December 28, 2009 Federal Register reports a decision by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) that continues an existing stay on the enforcement of certain portions of Section 14 of the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA), as amended by Section 102 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). The existing stay on the requirement for testing and certification of children’s products for phthalates remains in effect until further notice. This information will be of primary interest to companies manufacturing paper and paperboard products that are used as children’s toys or child care products.
