CC-01-020: Denial of AF&PA Petition to Remove Methanol from List of Hazardous Air Pollutants

The attached material appeared in the May 2, 2001 Federal Register. It is an EPA notice denying AF&PA’s petition to delete methanol from the list of 189 hazardous air pollutants contained in Section 112 of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments. T his action concludes over five years of EPA review of the original petition (submitted in March 1996) and supplemental material provided at EPA’s request. This notice will be of interest to companies operating chemical pulp mills or wood products plants that will be subject to Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) emission standards.
