EPA publishes final Affordable Clean Energy rule
On June 19, EPA published the final Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) rule, which replaces the Clean Power Plan (CPP). The primary difference between the CPP and ACE rules is the much-reduced scope; the ACE rule is only applicable to coal-fired Electric Generating Utilities (EGUs). Although the ACE rule is not directly applicable to the forest products industry, it may have some impact on the forest products industry.
NCASI Corporate Correspondent Memorandum No. 19-007 provides background and overview of the ACE rule.
