Pan American conference on biofuels and bioenergy sustainability

The Research Coordination Network (RCN) Conference on Pan American Biofuels and Bioenergy Sustainability will be held in Recife, Brazil on July 22-25, 2014. NCASI scientists will be making presentations on topics related to sustainability of forest biofuel and bioenergy production.

Bird community response to timber harvesting in the central Appalachian Mountains

Results were recently published from a large-scale study of bird community responses to forest management practices commonly used in the central Appalachian Mountains. The treatments used in the study reflected forest harvesting practices that have been proposed as tools for enhancing breeding habitat for Cerulean Warbler, a declining songbird.
