Forestry sessions at 2010 NCASI Northern Regional Meeting

NCASI’s 2010 Northern Regional Meeting will be held May 12-13 in Portland, Maine. The meeting will continue a tradition of bringing together people from Member Companies, regulatory agencies, and academic institutions to review technical and regulatory developments of interest to the forestry and forest products communities in the northern region. The General Session on May 12 will feature a presentation on the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative by David Littell, Commissioner of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

The meeting will include a forestry technical session on May 12 titled Planning a Sustainable Future for Northern Forests. In addition, a workshop on Biomass Energy and Sustainable Forestry will be held on the morning of May 13. Participants will be eligible for Continuing Forestry Education credits from the Society of American Foresters. Presentations will include:
